What we believe

Four positions shape everything BlackRidge builds. They are not slogans, each one rules something out. They also run in one direction: the role decides the development, development only counts if it survives the work, and evidence is how anyone knows whether it did.

“I spent 29 years watching responsibility change faster than development did. BlackRidge grew from a question I couldn’t stop asking: what actually prepares someone for the role ahead?”

01ROLE

Every new role deserves new development.

The responsibilities change. The decisions change. The relationships change. Development should change with them.

02DEVELOPMENT

The role should define the development.

We do not start with a course catalog. We start with what the leader will be responsible for next, then build development around those demands.

03APPLICATION

Leadership develops where leadership happens.

Learning has to survive the real environment, real teams, real workloads, real decisions, and real organizational conditions.

04EVIDENCE

Development should produce evidence.

Organizations deserve to know what changed, what is developing, and what still needs attention, not simply who attended.

Our People

Dan Stoutamire

Founder · MS, Strategic Leadership · Chief Master Sergeant (Ret.), United States Air Force

BlackRidge was founded after twenty-nine years in the United States Air Force: a career spent leading airmen, building leaders, and carrying responsibility at every enlisted level, including service at the highest enlisted rank.

That background shapes the work: leadership treated as something built deliberately rather than discovered, and development held to a standard of evidence rather than satisfaction.
